MJP likes to be different. MJP likes to offer a service that helps to differentiate it from other conveyancers. MJP base their approach to Conveyancing on the
following key principles:
- Technology is King - MJP sees technology as the driving force behind achieving the best out of what is a very antiquated process for moving home
- Transparency rules - MJP’s objective is to open up and to expose to their clients the conveyancing process ‘warts and all’, and to make sure they see what we
see and see it instantly - no ‘smoke and mirrors’ with MJP!
- Client focus prevails - Keep the client updated and happy and the client will come back and recommend us to at least one friend or family member.
Client feedback good or bad is always welcomed.
- Being different does not make it wrong - MJP has thrown out the stereo typical image of a lawyer and look to turn conveyancing ‘upside down and inside out’.
MJP is not a traditional conveyancer, MJP is forward thinking and determined to make its mark in a very competitive and time-honored industry.

Buying or Selling a property will often be one of the most important transactions that you will experience in your lifetime and it can also be the most stressful.
Unlike a lot of transactions that have a definite start and end, the Conveyancing Process is subject to many pressures and influences that can increase or decrease
the likelihood of you moving on your desired date, especially where there are chains involved.
Please see below table with some examples of time frames* for certain transactions:
Type of Scenario |
Time in principle |
First time buyer purchasing a New Build with a mortgage |
4-6 weeks with a very straight forward transaction and up to 6 months if completion is on notice |
Buying a Leasehold Property that requires an extension of the lease |
6-8 weeks if the Lease extension is straight forward however the could take 12+ weeks |
Selling a standard Freehold Property with no title issues |
6-8 weeks dependant on the progress of the transaction |
Selling a Leasehold Property with a Power of Attorney and Shared Ownership element |
8-16 weeks dependant on the elements and speed of any Landlords and Managing Agents |
* Please note, these are only examples and are not to be relied upon. Should you instruct MJP Conveyancing, you will receive updates on how your transaction is
progressing. Every property is different and there are numerous issues that could affect the time it takes to complete and therefore these timescales should
not be relied upon.
We Offer
- Quick, no-obligation quoting
- Full transparency quoting
- No nasty surprises
MJP understands that buying or selling a property will be one of the biggest transactions that you will make in your life and it is understandable you want to
know where you stand with your finances. MJP’s Ethos revolves around efficiency, proficiency and most of all, transparency. That’s why they promise to offer
you as their client complete transparency when in it comes to pricing.
When you receive a quote from MJP, all the items in the quote are broken down and explained for you so you will always know exactly how much you’ll be required to
pay. Oh, and your quote will always be visible on your journal so that everyone knows what you’ve been quoted and when to notify you if any of the figures change.
MJP will try as much as we can to provide you with transparent quotations and fee structures before and during your transaction however, as like anything in life,
MJP cannot predict change and cannot guarantee that things won’t change throughout the course of your transaction. MJP can only work on information at the
time and if this changes based on information that appears to be incorrect or whether something comes to light further down the line, then MJP will endeavour
to make you aware as soon as we can and inform you of the likely costs involved.
One more thing, MJP do not operate as a ‘No sale, no fee’ firm and therefore, in the unlikely case that your transaction does not complete, you may be liable to
pay the full fee including all disbursements/third party payments which may have been made on your behalf. *
*Unless expressly agreed with our New Business Team.
In situations where MJP are unable to act for you due to professional obligations, it will not raise any fees and will return any remaining funds to you.
Although MJP are not obliged to disclose the reasoning behind its decision not to act, they will endeavour to co-operate fully with the solicitors that
you chose to instruct in future.
Examples of these situations (but not limited to) may include:
- Unsatisfactory responses to our compliance checks
- Where there is a conflict of interest between parties
- Breakdown of mutual trust and confidence
We will endeavour to make you aware of our decision to end the retainer as soon as is possible in the circumstances.
